Tella
0 km
Tella Hospital (17 km north of Aínsa). After this town, a narrow road begins on the left that quickly climbs sunny slopes. During the climb, the Castillo Mayor rises defiantly to our right.
Km 5
A detour leads to the hamlets of Arinzué and Lamiana (the latter with a restaurant and accommodation, 2 km from the detour), and also to the unpopulated area of Revilla (6 km). 500 m before Revilla, a path starts on the left that leads in 30 minutes to some beautiful viewpoints over the Escuaín gorge. Through a road that begins nearby before this one, we can reach the town of Escuaín.
Km 6.8
Tella Dolmen. Huge stone slabs were the components of this Neolithic funerary monument.
Km 8
Tella (1340m). (Tourist information, beautiful museums of traditions and beliefs). Beautiful view of this town, highlighting the Sierra de las Sucas, Punta Suelza, Cotiella, Peña Llerga, Peña Montañesa, etc. Tella is a beautiful town lined up and lying at the foot of a rocky spur, with its 16th century church.
Paseo de las hermitas (40' walk, almost without slope).
Crossing the entire town along its single street, a path continues between meadows, ash trees and box trees to the Fajanillas hermitage (opposite is La Peña). Heading NW we will find another hermitage under a beautiful rocky spur, with the Yaga valley and the peaks of Tres Sorores and Tres Marías as a backdrop. It is the hermitage of Saints John and Paul (consecrated in no less than the year 1019). From here we can return to the town along a path towards the NW between pines, hedgehogs and boxwoods.
