La Guarguera
This route takes us to the most desolate corners of the Region: open and treeless moors, ruined towns..., a different and striking sensation.
1 km after Boltaña it starts on the left. a road towards Lanave and Sabiñánigo. 500 m after taking the detour, on a curve you can access the Romanesque bridge of Boltaña.
7 km
After Campodarbe, the continued climb allows us to contemplate good views towards the Pyrenees: Tres Sorores, Tres Marías, Punta Suelza... We ascend through sparsely wooded areas, with a lot of hedgehog or brinzón (Echinospartum horridum, a prickly bush similar to gorse), and also with some red pines.
Km 10.5.
A track in good condition allows you to go to Puymorcat and Las Bellostas, the starting point for excursions and canyoning in the northern area of the Sierra de Guara.
Various dirt tracks (km 15.3 and 18.3) lead to ruined towns ("las Torrollualas" and Matidero, respectively), lost in its desolate landscape of bristles, of mountains affected centuries ago by ancient fires and grazing.
Laguarta, at km 22.6, is already located in the neighboring region of El Serrablo. Of this nucleus, the Villacampa Palace (17th century) stands out, full of shields. The road continues descending the Guarga River to Lanave, a town located near Sabiñánigo. The landscape follows a similar trend.
